Ooredoo, founded in 1987 as Qatar's state telecom operator under the name Qtel, now runs mobile, fixed and digital-services businesses across the Middle East, North Africa and parts of Asia. It is majority owned by Qatari government-related entities and lists shares on the Qatar and Abu Dhabi exchanges.
