Abu Dhabi Chamber Adds 14 Companies to Sustainability Label at ADIPEC 2026

Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry recognized 14 companies under its Sustainability Label at ADIPEC 2026, lifting the number of businesses that hold the designation to 68.

The label is built on a framework of performance assessment, capacity building and continuous improvement. Companies use it to measure environmental, social and governance performance, locate gaps and develop organizational capability. Stronger environmental management, more visible social responsibility and better governance sit at the centre of the programme, along with improved transparency and credibility in the eyes of outside parties.

Ali Mohamed Al Marzooqi, the Chamber's Director-General, said the recipients had demonstrated tangible progress in embedding sustainability in their operations and a commitment to advancing corporate practice. His emphasis was on execution rather than intention. The Chamber, he said, concentrates on helping businesses convert commitments into practical action and measurable results, and supplies the tools they need to assess performance, identify improvements and keep pace with changing market requirements. He added that the Chamber intends to extend the programme's reach and wants more private sector companies to take up practices that strengthen competitiveness and open growth and partnership opportunities.

The 14 honorees were split across four categories:

  • Gold: Akwad Tech Network Websites Designing LLC and NMDC Energy.
  • Silver: Gulf Extrusion Automotive and Industries.
  • Bronze: Bynouna Gene Solutions, Day 21 Honey and Black Hole General Trading Sole Proprietorship LLC OPC.
  • Appreciation: ESAC Group, AJMS LG Consulting LLC, Maintex Interiors and General Maintenance, Dan Contracting and General Maintenance LLC, Taqeef Middle East Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Trading LLC SPC, Synergy Healthcare Facilities Management LLC, Transportr and Winner Consulting Engineers.

Their businesses range from energy services and manufacturing to construction, technology, food production, healthcare, professional services and logistics. That spread is the point. It shows the programme reaching well beyond the sectors where sustainability reporting first took hold, and it suggests the assessment tools are adaptable enough to be useful to a refrigeration contractor or a honey producer as well as to an energy firm.

Sustainability requirements are increasingly written into investment decisions, supply chains and market access. A small firm bidding for a contract or seeking credit now faces much the same set of questions about emissions, labour practices and governance as a large listed company. Certification of this kind gives those businesses a way to answer them, and gives the Chamber a mechanism for raising private sector competitiveness across the emirate.

The label previously took the Best Sustainability Initiative award at the 10th Abu Dhabi Sustainable Business Leadership Awards, which were organized by the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group, part of the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi.

The recognition formed part of the Chamber's participation in ADIPEC 2026, where energy industry leaders, investors and decision-makers gather to exchange expertise, build partnerships and explore collaboration.

Separately, Masdar has begun construction on a $142.87 million, 200MW floating solar project in Malaysia, designed to supply power to 100,000 homes.
