Ajman Chamber Puts Agentic AI Behind Certificate-of-Origin Processing
The Smart COO Agentic AI service completes an export certificate application in under three minutes and four clicks, down from a seven-minute standard.
Ajman Chamber has handed certificate-of-origin applications to an agentic AI agent, cutting completion time to under three minutes and shrinking the application journey to four clicks. The service, Smart COO Agentic AI, was launched at the Chamber's headquarters.
The previous published standard for issuing a certificate was seven minutes, a figure that applied whether the application came through the e-services portal, the smart application, the Ajman One app or the service delivery centre. A certificate of origin is the official commercial document identifying the country in which exported or re-exported goods originated.
Applicants still need a valid Ajman Chamber membership. They file a commercial invoice and, if they choose, a packing list, and the Chamber can call for further supporting documents. The workflow runs from login through document submission and fee payment to downloading the certificate and the attested invoice.
Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Vice Chairman of the Chamber's Board of Directors, said improvements to customer journeys built on AI raise service efficiency and support a business environment that is flexible and ready for the future. The Chamber expects the service to sharpen data accuracy and compliance, strengthen efficiency along trade chains and support business competitiveness. Fatima Abdulrazzaq Al Awadhi is Director of the Information Technology Department.
Certificate-of-origin fees are tiered by invoice value, beginning at AED35 for invoices up to AED5,000 and climbing to AED605 for invoices above AED5 million. No fee changes were announced at the launch, and the Chamber did not say whether charges had changed under the new service.
The launch fits a wider push across the emirate. The Ajman Artificial Intelligence Programme was set up in May 2026 as a single framework under Ajman Vision 2030, "Ajman for People". In July the emirate became the first UAE government to complete a trade-licence renewal using agentic AI, under what the Ajman Digital Department calls a "No-Interface Government Services" ecosystem. Dr. Ahood Ali Al Shuhail, the department's Director General, said the model moves government away from waiting for requests and towards anticipating customer needs. Ajman's government describes agentic AI as systems that carry out procedures for customers rather than only supplying information or recommendations.

Federal momentum sits behind it. In April the UAE government announced a framework to transform 50 percent of federal government sectors and services within two years through agentic AI, and the Cabinet approved a roles-and-responsibilities framework for ministries and entities running the Agentic AI Project. Ajman showed off agentic AI services at Ai Everything Abu Dhabi 2026 on October 6 and 7, with the Department of Economic Development, Department of Finance, Municipality and Planning Department and Ajman Free Zones Authority among those presenting.
The Chamber consulted private-sector members in July on service development, including attestation and certificate-of-origin work. Mohammed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director of the Member Support Services Sector and head of the Chamber's Zero Bureaucracy team, and Ali Rashid Al Kaitoob, Executive Director of the Studies and Investment Development Sector, attended the launch. Salem Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the Chamber, pointed to AI agents' potential to lift operational efficiency, service quality and productivity. The Chamber obtained ISO/IEC 42001 certification for AI management systems in May and later that month held a forum on agentic AI and service development.
It publishes open datasets on certificates of origin, broken down by destination, mode of transport, product code, country of origin, company category and licensing authority.
The Chamber did not disclose how many companies it expects to use Smart COO, its annual transaction volume or projected cost savings for businesses.
