Comera Finance Opens in UAE With Financing for Businesses and Consumers

Comera Finance has begun operations in the UAE. It is licensed by the Central Bank of the UAE. The company sits inside Comera Financial Holdings, which is part of Abu Dhabi’s Royal Group. That ownership and regulatory status give the launch a foundation most new entrants do not have.

For eligible businesses, the first commercial lineup has three parts: term loans, merchant financing and deposit solutions. The first two are credit products. Deposit solutions give companies a regulated place to hold cash. Comera says the mix is designed to support operational, liquidity and growth requirements. That means the products are supposed to help with both expansion and day-to-day cash management.

Business customers are not the only focus. Comera Finance will offer a range of lending services to individuals. The company describes those services in terms of accessibility and responsible lending. The two priorities have to work together. Accessibility points to wider eligibility. Responsible lending points to careful checks and clear repayment expectations. The challenge is to make credit available without putting borrowers under pressure they cannot manage.

Akhtar Saeed Hashmi, Managing Director and Group CEO of Comera Financial Holdings, framed the launch as part of a longer plan. He called Comera Finance “an important step in building a broader financial services proposition in the UAE.” The company, he said, focuses on “solutions relevant to the evolving needs of businesses and consumers.” Hashmi also said responsible financing and transparency are at the core of operations.

an important step in building a broader financial services proposition in the UAE.

Comera Finance said it will continue expanding its product range based on customer demand. It also plans to grow its presence across the UAE. The product roadmap is not fixed, then; it depends on what businesses and consumers ask for as the lender builds a track record.

The central bank license matters here. It puts the operation under oversight rather than leaving it in the less regulated space where smaller lenders often operate. Comera Financial Holdings now has a supervised unit that can develop corporate and consumer credit in one market. It can use that as a base for more financial products later.

The open question is not whether the group can enter the market. It has done that with a license, a product lineup and capital behind it. The real test is whether responsible financing stays central as the loan book grows and the company expands to more customers and bigger commitments.
