Huru will keep running its cards through Paymentology and will add digital asset trading through Bitpanda Enterprise, under two agreements the Emirati-owned app signed during the Seamless Fintech Middle East 2026 event. Huru holds a licence from the Central Bank of the UAE.
Paymentology remains Huru's card processor. The company is also backing a Huru card tied to Jaywan, the country's home-grown card network, which is scheduled to reach users in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Bitpanda Enterprise gives Huru customers a way to buy, sell and hold digital assets inside the app, routed through Bitpanda's regulated platform.
Universal Accounts and the push for scale
Beyond the two partnerships, Huru has struck agreements with nine exchange houses, following the central bank's push for Universal Accounts. It expects to issue about one million of those accounts within the next 12 months.
A Universal Account is a digital account held in the customer's own name with its own IBAN. Because it belongs to the individual rather than an employer, it stays with the holder after a job change, unlike a salary card.
Holders can collect their salary, send money home, settle bills, top up phones, save and spend with a card. Quick Cash covers unexpected expenses, and the app is available in seven languages.
Payroll stays where it is
Employers do not have to alter how they run payroll. Huru works with the Wage Protection System, so pay cycles remain as they are. Salary files continue to move through the employer's bank, while Huru handles account onboarding and support during the transition.
More than 24,000 employers pay a combined AED 3 billion in annualised salaries into Huru accounts, according to the company.
What the two partners said
By bringing together card processing and new financial capabilities around the Universal Account, we are building an ecosystem that can grow with our customers' needs while expanding access to regulated financial services across the UAE.
That was Abhimanyu Girotra, chief executive of Huru.
Our longstanding partnership with Huru has enabled us to support its growth and evolution over time, and we are proud to play a role in this latest milestone.
That was Nauman Hassan, Paymentology's regional director for MENA.
The Q4 2026 launch of the Jaywan card, alongside the Universal Account rollout, sets the timetable the two partners are now working to.
