NMDC Group Rebrands Emdad as NMDC Emdad After 70% Stake Deal

Emdad now trades as NMDC Emdad, following its absorption into Abu Dhabi's NMDC Group through the subsidiary NMDC LTS. The name change marks what the company calls a new phase in its evolution and a deeper integration into the group's ecosystem.

Nothing operational changes

The company said the transition will not disturb day-to-day operations. Its management team stays as it is. So do employees, client relationships, contracts and operational facilities. That unchanged structure, NMDC Emdad said, is what secures continuity for partners and clients through the rebrand.

NMDC LTS completed the purchase of a 70% stake in Emdad's share capital and voting rights in June 2025, financed through a mix of debt and equity. The deal gives NMDC Group a route into the operating expenditure side of oilfield services, where revenues recur, and it widens the group's portfolio while strengthening its competitive position.

What Emdad brings

Emdad has served the UAE energy sector for more than four decades, with a track record dating to 1979. It delivers upstream and downstream services and technical expertise to national and international operators, work that has contributed to the country's standing as a global energy hub.

Its service lines include well intervention, waste management, shutdown and turnaround work, coil tubing and valves. Within NMDC Emdad, the core capabilities sit in well services, asset integrity and maintenance, and the business intends to offer integrated solutions built to optimise asset lifecycle value and lift operational efficiency.

The financial base is modest but established. Emdad reported 2024 revenue above $163.4 million, roughly AED 600 million, and equity of $59.1 million, or about AED 217 million.

Chairman's view

Mohamed Thani Murshed Ghannam Al Rumaithi, chairman of NMDC Group, described the step as a milestone that reflects the group's growth mindset. He said NMDC Group is committed to leveraging combined capabilities to create value for shareholders and partners, and that its work supports UAE national ambitions for economic growth in vital sectors.

The new identity is meant to reinforce Emdad's access to NMDC Group's scale, technical depth and asset strength. The company is positioned as a cornerstone of the group's oil and gas business.

For NMDC Group, the value of the transaction rests less on the sign above the door than on what the acquisition adds underneath it: a recurring-revenue oilfield services business that runs alongside its existing contracting work, at a moment when UAE operators are pushing more maintenance and integrity spending through long-term service contracts rather than one-off capital projects.
