PureHealth Q1 revenue up 10 percent to $2bn as overseas care scales
Abu Dhabi's PureHealth posted AED 7.3 billion in first-quarter revenue and AED 415 million in net profit, with international care up 60 percent and UAE care down 13 percent after the UPP rollout.
PureHealth Holding PJSC recorded first-quarter revenue of AED 7.3 billion ($2 billion), a 10 percent increase from a year earlier, with hospitals and clinics outside the UAE carrying more of the growth. EBITDA for the three months to March 31 rose 5 percent to AED 1.2 billion ($326.7 million). Net profit reached AED 415 million, held back by regulatory changes tied to the Unified Purchasing Program.
Overseas care lifts the group
International care revenue climbed 60 percent year on year to AED 2.5 billion, a figure that includes the Greece and Cyprus-based Hellenic Healthcare Group. Segment EBITDA grew at the same 60 percent rate, with margins holding steady. HHG added AED 785 million to quarterly revenue as patient volumes rose 9 percent, led by outpatient visits.
Circle Health, the group's UK arm, lifted revenue 9.5 percent on gains in inpatient, day-case and outpatient work. The business opened additional consulting rooms at The Park Hospital to expand primary care and elective capacity, and became the first private hospital group in the UK to install Intuitive's Da Vinci 5 surgical robot. HHG's acquisition of EVANGELISMOS Hospital in Cyprus, completed in the fourth quarter of 2025, extended the group's footprint further.
UAE volumes hold as insurance grows
UAE care revenue fell 13 percent to AED 2.7 billion, a decline the group attributes to the UPP rollout in May 2025. Underlying activity still expanded. Outpatient volumes rose 3 percent, inpatient volumes 10 percent, and laboratory and surgical volumes 2 percent each. Hospital occupancy reached 76 percent, four percentage points above the year-earlier level. SEHA added more than 190 beds across critical care, paediatric, medical, surgical and long-term units.
Insurance revenue advanced 9 percent to AED 2.0 billion. Gross written premiums were up 5.6 percent at AED 3.8 billion, supported by renewals, pricing discipline and new business, and insured members reached 3.4 million, 5 percent more than a year ago. Daman's entry into property and casualty cover now has all lines live, generating AED 21 million in initial gross written premiums.
Technology and integration
PureLab deployed an AI-powered software-as-a-service logistics system across the emirates as part of a multi-emirate digitisation effort, while PureCS broadened the IT services it provides to Circle Health and HHG.
Kamal Al Maazmi, the group's chairman, said sustained demand and disciplined execution drove the quarter, and that the combined care and insurance model "provides both stability and long-term growth opportunities." Chief executive Shaista Asif credited Circle Health and Hellenic Healthcare Group with "significantly scaling our international revenue base."
provides both stability and long-term growth opportunities.
The company expects the higher-margin international portfolio to keep shifting its revenue mix as acquired assets are integrated, alongside insurance expansion, steady demand in the UAE and continued spending on digital and clinical capacity.
