Schneider Electric, PureHealth Put Emissions Data Inside Hospital Operations

Schneider Electric and PureHealth have agreed to work together on sustainability and digital innovation across the hospital group's facilities and infrastructure. The partnership was announced in a statement on Tuesday.

Schneider Electric will open its EcoStruxure Resource Advisor platform to PureHealth and build a framework for examining sustainable infrastructure strategies at PureHealth sites.

PureHealth intends to use the platform to pursue energy efficiency, digital transformation, artificial intelligence and sustainability advisory goals. It will manage Scope 1, Scope 2 and the relevant Scope 3 emissions through the same system, and consolidate sustainability data that would otherwise sit apart. Consolidation is the point. Since May 2025, the UAE Climate Change Law has required every entity to measure, report and reduce emissions. The duty falls on hospital operators as much as on factories.

Olivier Blum, chief executive of Schneider Electric, said healthcare is vital to every community and the sector can lead the transition to more sustainable, efficient and resilient operations.

PureHealth is aiming for net zero by 2040, a target validated by the Science Based Targets initiative. The group cut its greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 37% between 2022 and 2024.

Shaista Asif, group chief executive of PureHealth, said future healthcare depends on clinically advanced, sustainable and resilient systems built for future generations. Embedding sustainability into healthcare design and operations, she said, can strengthen long-term performance and health outcomes.

The tie-up sits inside the UAE climate agenda, which targets net zero by 2050 and a 47% cut in greenhouse gas emissions by 2035 under the country's third Nationally Determined Contribution. The energy efficiency and ESG data work is meant to help PureHealth's facilities meet the requirements of the climate change law.

Asif ranks first in the healthcare category of the Middle East's Sustainability Leaders 2026 list. She also places 17th on the region's Top 100 CEOs 2026 list, and PureHealth ranks 54th on its 100 Most Valuable Companies 2026 ranking.

Hospitals are awkward decarbonisation candidates. They cannot dial down operations to hit a number, so efficiency has to come from equipment, controls and the reporting discipline around them. Software that ties emissions accounting to building performance turns a disclosure exercise into an operating metric.
