Shory Debuts Conversational AI Agent for Car Insurance Buyers in the UAE

Shory has put an artificial intelligence agent in front of its car insurance business in the UAE. The agent, Shory AI, was introduced at Ai Everything Abu Dhabi 2026 and runs on the company's digital insurance platform.

Its job is narrower than that of a general-purpose assistant. Shory AI compares available car insurance quotes, explains how policies differ on coverage, benefits and exclusions, and answers questions about a specific policy in English or Arabic. Once a customer settles on a plan, the agent can help complete the purchase.

That combination is the point. Conventional chatbots are largely built to answer questions and then hand the user back to a form. Shory AI is built to take an active role, guiding a customer through the assessment of options rather than waiting to be asked.

From comparison to checkout

Buying car insurance usually means reading through several policies and weighing coverage terms against price before deciding. Much of that work has to be repeated at the payment stage. Shory AI folds comparison and purchase into a single interaction, so a customer does not have to restart the process after making a choice.

  • Quote comparison across available car insurance options
  • Explanations of what each policy covers, what it adds and what it excludes
  • Policy-specific questions answered in English and Arabic
  • Help completing a purchase after a plan is selected

Aoun Al Smadi, chief executive of Shory UAE, said insurance can be difficult to navigate, particularly when policies differ in their coverage, benefits and exclusions. He said AI could give people more clarity and confidence when they make insurance decisions.

Where the agent sits

Shory AI is not a standalone tool attached to a broker's front end. It is part of Shory's own digital insurance platform, which shapes what the agent can reach: quotes, policy terms and the transaction itself sit in the same system.

The bet behind agents of this kind is that the slow part of buying insurance is not finding a price. It is understanding what the price buys, and doing that across several documents that are not written to be compared side by side. A conversational layer that explains exclusions in the same breath as it presents a quote addresses that step directly, and it does so in the flow where the decision is actually made rather than in a call to a support line afterwards.

Support for Arabic alongside English widens who can use it, though the harder test is whether the explanations hold up when a customer pushes on a specific clause rather than accepting the first summary.

Shory is a First.tech company under Judan Financial Holding, a holding company that houses International Holding Company's banking, insurance and investment businesses. The insurance platform therefore sits alongside other financial services under the same corporate roof, which is where the reach of a product like Shory AI will ultimately be decided — by how much of that base it can move from browsing quotes to buying a policy.
