Tag Markets Hits 1 Million Clients in Push to Become World’s Largest Forex Broker

Tag Markets was founded in 2023 and is based in Dubai. The forex and CFD brokerage crossed one million clients in May 2026, recording more than $820 billion in transactional volume along the way. It reached that mark in less than three years.

Its client base spans the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe. The founder has said the objective is to become the largest forex and CFD brokerage in the world. Tag Markets believes that scale will come from reducing friction and widening access, not from pushing harder through traditional sales channels.

Outdated structures and the response

The company’s leadership identified fragmented client onboarding as one of the industry’s main weaknesses. Account opening often cuts across jurisdictions, payment providers, and internal teams, which slows the process for traders and for the firm. Tag Markets built an international operating model from its Dubai base to act as the foundation for a simpler experience.

Partners saw a different gap. The leadership argued that partner systems lacked visibility, leaving introducing brokers without a clear line of sight into their own operations. In October 2025, Tag Markets introduced its IB portal as a direct answer to that problem.

A month earlier, it launched CopyX, a proprietary copy-trading product. CopyX lets clients follow other traders’ strategies through the firm’s own technology, rather than integrating third-party tools. Both systems now sit at the centre of Tag Markets’ pitch to traders and partners.

Licences and scale

Regulatory expansion has run alongside the product work. Tag Markets obtained a Mauritius licence in 2024 and a South African licence in 2026. Each licence gives it a regulated, permanent presence in another market, and both were pulled into the wider international model the company built out of Dubai.

The leadership believed the industry relied on outdated structures. Tag Markets’ answer was to control more of the stack itself. CopyX and the IB portal are the visible expressions of that approach.

What matters beyond the numbers is the order in which they appeared. Tag Markets was founded in 2023, licensed in Mauritius in 2024, launched CopyX and the IB portal in consecutive months in 2025, added its South African licence in 2026, and passed one million clients in May of the same year. That sequence is a signal. The company is using technology and compliance as growth tools, not treating them as back-office chores.

Hitting one million clients puts Tag Markets in a different tier of brokerage, but the founder’s goal is not a tier. It is the top of the entire industry. The next stage will show whether the model that worked in Dubai can be exported at the scale required to lead global forex.
