OpoFinance Rebrands as OPO, Ties Trading Accounts to AI Assistants

OpoFinance has rebranded as OPO. The online forex and contracts for difference broker, which serves clients across the Middle East and North Africa and in English-speaking parts of Africa, made the change as it marked five years of operations.

The new identity was unveiled at Forex Expo Dubai, held on September 22 and 23. Alongside the name change, the company previewed a digital platform due to go live before the end of the year, together with technology built to give traders a clearer view of their own positions and the analytical tools that sit around them.

A contract for difference lets a trader take a position on the price movement of an asset without owning it. OPO's catalogue runs to more than 300 instruments across forex, metals, commodities, indices, stocks and cryptocurrencies. OPO Group Ltd, the firm behind the brokerage, was founded in 2021. Clients trade through MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader and TradingView, as well as OpoTrade, the company's proprietary platform.

Both the platform preview and the account tooling centre on records the client already generates through their own trading.

An AI connection that can only read

The most unusual addition is a Model Context Protocol link, which lets a client connect an OPO trading account to AI assistants including ChatGPT and Claude. Once the user grants permission, questions typed in ordinary language return account information, trading history and performance data.

The connection is read-only. It cannot place, alter or close a trade, and it cannot move funds. OPO says the account holder's username and password never reach the AI provider, and access can be cut from the OPO Client Area at any point.

Yasi Pazooki, OPO's chief operating officer, framed the rebrand as continuity rather than a break. "Five years ago, we set out to build a broker that traders in this region could rely on," he said. "OPO is the next step in that journey. We are bringing together the brokerage, technology and analytical tools traders need under one identity, while giving them new ways to understand their own trading data."

What comes next

Further products are planned. An IB Dashboard, built for introducing brokers, is expected to arrive in November.

On the regulatory side, OPO holds authorisation from South Africa's Financial Sector Conduct Authority and from the Financial Services Authority in Seychelles. Its services are offered in Arabic, English and Farsi.

The November release is the first item on that roadmap to carry a date.
