Oro raises $3 million to expand AI-powered DeFi execution

Oro, a UAE-based financial AI platform, has raised $3 million in a strategic funding round. MH Ventures and Mapleblock Capital co-led the round, with participation from M2M Capital, Archer Capital, and X21 Digital. Disrupt.com and ZIGLabs added follow-on backing. Total funding now stands at $4 million.

Oro was founded in 2024 by Varun Choudhary. The platform uses natural-language AI to convert financial instructions into multi-step DeFi transactions. Instead of a user manually navigating through lending markets, liquidity pools, or swap interfaces, they can describe a desired move in plain English and the platform maps out the sequence of on-chain actions. It runs a non-custodial, user-authorised model, meaning users approve each action and assets remain in their control. More than 350,000 active users have already onboarded, and the platform supports over 80 languages.

Choudhary, who serves as co-founder and CEO, said the past 18 months have filtered the Web3 market. He said Oro has thrived by pairing financial infrastructure with natural-language AI, and that the industry is shifting toward intent-based execution. For him, the funding round demonstrates that product-market fit draws institutional capital.

Keira Nesdale, portfolio manager at MH Ventures, said Oro abstracts backend friction without giving up non-custodial security. She said the platform is positioned to lead the agentic finance transition. Vijay Garg, managing partner at Mapleblock Capital, described Oro's execution as exceptional and emphasised its organic user growth through market cycles. He sees the platform setting a new standard for digital asset interaction.

The fresh capital will advance Oro's AI and agentic technology. It will also expand the engineering and business development teams. The company plans to strengthen its regulatory and compliance frameworks, push user acquisition, and support B2B integrations.

Oro already has public milestones. An educational campaign backed by AWS drove over 250,000 verified user completions. A partnership initiative with Ondo Finance generated more than 50,000 verified completions in 24 hours. The platform runs live mainnet integrations with Morpho, Kamino, Lido, Aave, Uniswap, and Raydium. Those names cover the major corners of DeFi: lending, staking, liquid staking, and automated market making. The integrations give Oro room to route instructions across different parts of the ecosystem, which is exactly what an execution layer needs.

Oro's next target is ten million active users within 6 to 12 months. Native iOS and Android apps will be rolled out, and new advisory board appointments are being finalised. Reaching that user base would be a substantial leap from the current figure. Mobile is likely the vehicle for that expansion, alongside B2B integrations that put Oro's interface in front of other platforms' customers.

The raise is a signal that capital is following user traction in the AI-and-crypto overlap. Natural-language execution removes the need to understand routing, slippage, and protocol mechanics. Whether Oro can hold onto its non-custodial promise while scaling toward ten million users will determine if it becomes a default interface for DeFi, or just another layer in the stack.
