Saudi game studio Majestic Mind Games raises $1.45 million

Majestic Mind Games, a Saudi Arabia-based game development studio, has raised $1.45 million. Merak Capital and Impact46 co-led the funding round. The studio, founded in 2023, is based in Jeddah and backed by NEOM.

Majestic Mind Games develops original video games, with PC as the primary platform. Selected titles later expand to console and mobile. The studio describes its games as designed to encourage curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking. Lujain Albukhari and Majed Anbar co-founded the company. Samaher Bantan is the lead artist, and Mohammed Baeshen is a game programmer.

The funding will go toward developing new original titles and building new intellectual property. Majestic Mind Games says it wants to produce games that can compete internationally, and it sees international-facing development as a way to expand Saudi Arabia's presence in the global gaming industry. New IP is the key phrase. The studio is not positioning itself as a contractor for outside publishers. It wants to own the franchises it creates.

Merak Capital said it made the investment because of the team's originality, commercial discipline, and long-term execution capabilities. The investors describe Saudi Arabia's gaming ecosystem as entering a new phase. That phrase matters. It signals that this round is about the next group of Saudi studios, not just the companies that have already been built.

PC-first development makes sense for a studio aiming at a global audience. It keeps the team focused on one platform while the market responds, and it leaves console and mobile as later extensions rather than initial constraints. Original games do not have a built-in audience. They depend on a strong idea and on the team's ability to finish it. Merak Capital's reference to execution capabilities points directly at that risk.

NEOM's backing connects the round to a larger national project, even though the studio is based in Jeddah. Founded in 2023, Majestic Mind Games is still a young company. The investors are not buying a proven track record. They are buying a plan and a team. That is the real calculation behind this deal: a small studio, an original idea, and a market that is only beginning to support this kind of work.

The new phase, then, is not about esports or infrastructure. It treats a studio in Jeddah as an originator of games, not just a participant in a larger ecosystem. If the studio's titles find audiences abroad, it will show that Saudi Arabia can produce global IP. Whether or not that happens, the money marks a shift in where the country's gaming investors are willing to place bets.
