Bahrain will play host to Fintech Forward 2026 on 7 and 8 October, with Exhibition World Bahrain as the venue. Now in its fourth year, the event bills itself as a regional flagship financial services forum. Hosting duties sit with the Bahrain Economic Development Board, while Forbes Middle East is responsible for programming. Support comes from the Central Bank of Bahrain and Bahrain FinTech Bay.

The 2026 edition takes as its theme 'Finance in the Age of Intelligent Infrastructure'. The phrase points to a stage in the industry where technology is not a layer on top of finance but part of the structure of finance. The agenda is built around practical pathways for growth, and the organisers have named closer integration across financial systems, regulation, and infrastructure as the priority. The forum will also be a place for participants to build strategic relationships with partners, investors, and decision-makers.

Mohammed AlAlawi, Chief of Marketing and Communications at Bahrain EDB, said financial services contribute more than 17% to Bahrain's GDP. He said the forum brings together thought leaders and chief executives from Bahrain, the wider region, and international markets. AlAlawi described a programme made up of keynote sessions, panel discussions, exhibitions, and strategic networking opportunities.

Khuloud Al Omian, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Middle East, called Fintech Forward a platform where global leaders, investors, regulators, and innovators meet. She said Forbes Middle East is partnering with Bahrain EDB to deliver the event, adding that it strengthens Bahrain's position as a leading fintech hub.

Commercially, the forum is structured around four sponsorship tiers: Platinum, Diamond, Silver, and Gold. Exhibitions are part of the programme, and the venue is built for that sort of scale. The organisers have set their sights on making this the most impactful Fintech Forward to date.

A fourth edition stops being a novelty and starts being an institution. That distinction matters for a country where financial services are not a sideline. The sector accounts for more than 17% of GDP, which makes an international fintech forum part of Bahrain's economic strategy rather than a public-relations exercise. By involving the central bank and Bahrain FinTech Bay as supporters, the organisers have tied the event to both oversight and the local ecosystem. Forbes Middle East's role as programmer adds a regional media layer and gives the Bahrain event a degree of distribution that a government-hosted conference would not normally have. In a neighbourhood where several cities are courting fintech investors, that kind of reach is part of the pitch. It is also part of the theme. If finance is moving toward intelligent infrastructure, no single company, bank, or regulator can build that alone. The deals and relationships formed in Bahrain will determine whether the country is merely hosting the conversation or helping to build what comes next.
